Green Eco Research Group
Welcome to the exploration of polymer research by GreenER Group. Here, the natural polysaccharides are used to design the biodegradable polymers that are sensitive to environment stimuli and imbibe a large amount of water. These environment sensitive polymers could interact with human cells to induce a desired biological response and also being non-carcinogenic environmental solutions for water purifications. Most of the natural polysaccharides are famous to everyone as an edible substance that provides energy for daily life in the form of carbohydrates. Polymeric hydrogels based on natural biodegradable polysaccharides such as cellulose, starch, psyllium, pectin, chitosan, and natural gums have attracted much attention owing to their biocompatibilities, low toxicity, biodegradability and comparatively low cost due to naturally available in superabundant. It is amazing that some medical treatments are surviving excellently with new innovated drug delivery system using polysaccharides from industrial wastes such as from agricultural, biotechnological and pharmaceutical.

Dr. Pushpa's research team won the gold medal at the ITEX competition held between 12 - 14th of May 2016.
One of the largest invention exhibitions in the world, ITEX is an annual exhibition which showcases the region’s (Asia and Europe) best inventions (1,000) from 23 invention categories related to innovation or technology which aims to make everyday life easier. More than 20 countries will take part in this year's exhibition. All of the exhibitors which will consist of inventors, research scientists, research institutions, individual inventors, young inventors, and corporations will be giving their best to vie for investors’ attention. Those who stand out will be on their way to commercialize their inventions.
